Shirakami-Sanchi [Aomori / Akita]

Shirakami-Sanchi is a vast mountainous area with one of the largest primeval beech forests in the world.

It has been registered as a World Heritage site for its diverse and rich natural environment of plants and animals.

The “core area” is particularly well preserved in its native state. It is home to many species of animals, such as black bears and Japanese monkeys, and maintains an environment that is isolated from humans.

The Dakedai Forest contains one of the many trails where you can take pictures of an environment that is close to its natural state.
